Seek Value Now

I've been picking stocks since my twenties. No finance degree, no CFA. I studied medieval history and spent my career in tech. What I have is a decade of receipts: my portfolio has beaten the S&P 500 net of fees and taxes, at less risk than the index. A few years ago it got me to financial independence at 50.

This is where I write about the companies I own, the ones I'm watching, and the ones I keep arguing with myself about. Head-to-head comparisons are the core: two companies in the same lane, side by side, until one of them clearly deserves the capital. When a single name is worth its own piece, I do the deep dive. When a friend asks me something basic like "what does a dividend actually mean," that becomes a Money Basics.

Nothing here is advice. It's how I think about businesses, priced in dollars I'd actually put on the table. If it sharpens your thinking, good. If you disagree, better; tell me why.
